Most lead lives of active boredom...
Having once known a contagious passion,
And a fiercely guarded obedience,
Have now settled into respectable Christian mediocrity.
Their force & fire long since spent,
Only smoke & smolders hint at what blazes danced there long, long ago.
But I have come...
To where courage tears through my fears
Like flames through the midst of kindling once thought all spent & gone.
To where Gideon traversed,
Leaving cowardice & half way commitment
To cross over into the valor & might
Which makes men bleed & suffer rather than retreat.
I have come to reveal the source of this fire in me
Which grows wilder & more intense
With every strong winds that blows my way.
These scattering of words, each a flaming tongue,
I now send to sit upon your heads & burn in your hearts
Who have been waiting, wanting to become martyrs;
Witnesses to what is True.
And these my words I pray would be to you
That you too may know what it is to be drunk
in the pleasures of His presence
And that you too may be found in Him
Who is a consuming fire.
